It's been an incredible summer for women's sport, and having taken some screen time off to top up the vitamin D levels, we're back to reminisce about the last few months otherwise known as one of the best seasons of women's sport to have ever happened.


 

 23 JULY

England Win the Cricket World Cup

Tori Bowie Takes 100m Gold at the IAAF World Athletics Championships, London

"USA sprinter Tori Bowie produced a stunning finish, dipping to pip Marie-JosΓ©e Ta Lou on the line, to win gold in the women’s 100m final."

New Zealand beat England 41-32 to win Women's Rugby World Cup

"England led 17-10 at half-time but were outgunned in the second half by a dominant New Zealand side, who lifted the trophy for the fifth time as Toka Natua scored a hat-trick."

Sloane Stephens Wins the US Open

"Even tennis, a sport where comebacks are the coin of the realm, has rarely seen a revival quite like this. Stephens, a 24-year-old with an incandescent grin and a potent blend of offensive and defensive skills, was ranked 957th early last month after having returned to the tour in July."

Anna Van Der Breggen Takes the Overall Women's World Tour Win

"With five WorldTour wins in 2017, Anna van der Breggen was the dominant rider in the women's peloton and has been rewarded with victory in the season long classification. The Dutchwoman didn't race the final event on the calendar, Madrid Challenge by la Vuelta, having previously done enough to secure the win."
